Wet Process Chemical  

Hong Kong Specialty Gases offers the broadest line of semiconductor grade wet chemicals in the industry. With purities that extend to the parts-per-trillion level, these high-quality acids, etchants, solvents, cleaning formulations and other process chemicals are used by semiconductor and wafer fabs the world over.

All of our suppliers are basic manufacturers, they go far beyond simply repackaging as other companies' chemicals. By vertically integrating sulfuric acid production, nitric acid distillation and hydrofluoric acid generation, for example, they control the entire production process from assuring raw material quality to final packaging. This allows us to evaluate and enhance all processes continuously, so our products can help minimize defects and improve yields.

 

Our Process Capable Specification Program is a good example of how we improve quality. This program combines the basic manufacturing strengths with sophisticated statistical methods to enhance purity and narrow product variability. It allows us to set notification limits well below our customers' specifications, so they learn of even relatively minor shifts in product properties that could affect them.

We offer three standard grades keyed to purity level:
ULSI Grade

The ULSI Grade meets or exceeds the industry's most stringent requirements. ULSI specifications are periodically upgraded. Production of this grade involves specialised container-cleaning procedures prior to product fill in a cleanroom environment. Advanced sampling and analytical methods guarantee the tightest specifications, reported at parts-per-trilion. ULSI grade products are:

  • manufactured to meet or exceed SEMI C8.X (Grade 3) standards
  • analytically tested in accordance with SEMI standards
  • particle-count certified down to 0.2 micron
  • filtered through 0.1 micron filters
  • tested for a complete range of anions and cations
  • packaged into containers verified for chemical purity
  • filled through a closed-fill system
  • individually particle counted and certified (drums and totes)
VLSI Grade

The VLSI Grade meets the purity requirements of most fabs. This mid-grade family of chemicals has metallic specifications in the low parts-per-billion range and is used to fabricate semiconductor devices with critical geometries of less than 1.0 micron. VLSI grade products are:

  • manufactured to meet or exceed SEMI C7.X (Grade 2) standards
  • analytically tested in accordance with SEMI standards
  • particle-count certified down to 0.5 micron
  • filtered through 0.2 micron filters, at minimum
  • tested for a complete range of anions and cations
  • packaged into containers verified for chemical purity
  • double anti-static bagged with shed-resistant label (bottles)
  • individually particle counted and certified (drums and totes)
ELECTRONIC Grade

The Electronic Grade offers cost-effective performance in many electronic applications and is superior to reagent grade chemicals. ELECTRONIC grade products are:

  • manufactured to meet or exceed SEMI C1.X or C2.X (Grade 1) standards
  • analytically tested in accordance with SEMI standards
  • packaged into containers verified for chemical purity
  • particle-count certified at 1.0 micron
  • filtered through 0.2 micron filters
